Why I Doula

For the past 10 years, I have been passionate about working with children and building meaningful connections with families through education.

To deepen my expertise in the field, I earned a degree in Human Services and Childcare Administration from Empire State University. Following that, I established a NYS-licensed in-home daycare specializing in the care and development of infants and toddlers.

I’m now a trained Birth and Postpartum doula, obtaining DONA international certification.

After attending several birth experiences, I knew I had found right where I’m suppose to be!

My greatest gift and experience has been becoming a mother to the two loves of my life. After serving families and friends during their postpartum journeys, I developed a passion for helping new families adjust to newborn life.

I doula because I want to do whatever I can to make the birth and postpartum journey one filled with joy and love, one that families will look back on with happiness and without regret. We can’t always make things perfect, and we definitely can’t control all the circumstances, but I will do whatever I can to make sure parents have the information, support and encouragement they need.

“Only with trust, faith, and support can the woman allow the birth experience to enlighten and empower her. Women’s strongest feelings [in terms of their birthings], positive and negative, focus on the way they were treated by their caregivers.”
